October 2013 meeting

Our next PACE meeting is on Monday, October 14th, at 6:30pm at the Shepard Center, 873 Walcutt Avenue, 43219. We’ll have two current school board members who are up for re-election, Mike Wiles and Hanifah Kambon, and two school board candidates, Dominic Paretti and Michael Cole, speaking to us about their thoughts on Gifted and Talented education. We would love for you to submit questions for the school board members and candidates in advance. Two questions that will be asked are the following:
(1) If the levy passes in November, do you plan to replace any of the 10 positions that were cut in Spring 2013 in the GT department?
(2) What are your ideas to improve the Value Added Grade, an “F”, CCS has for Gifted and Talented?

Simply submit your additional questions to us via e-mail to secretary@columbuspace.org.

Dr. Colleen Boyle, supervisor of the Gifted and Talented department, will also give an introduction explaining what the Value Added grade of an “F” for GT students in CCS on the state report card means AND new important changes regarding state testing that will affect all CCS students.

There will be free babysitting in the gym – have your kids bring homework or a game.

See you at the meeting!
