We will have as our topic of discussion “Learning Styles and Teaching Styles.” Gain insights from veteran educators as well as fellow parents that may help us guide our students to gain the most out of their learning experiences, both in and beyond the classroom. Learn how to work with teachers, and administrators as we plan our children’s progress.
We will have child care at this meeting. Please have your child bring a favorite book or game – or homework.

Coordinator for the Department of Counselor Education and
Human Services at the University of Dayton where he facilitates
and oversees school counselor placement in the Columbus area.
Having received his bachelor’s degree in Early and Middle
Childhood Education at The Ohio State University, his master’s
degree in Educational Services and Research at The Ohio State
University, his Clinical Counseling Licensure at the University of
Dayton, and his doctoral degree in Education Theory and Practice
at The Ohio State University, Tim brings more than 30 years
experience in education and guidance efforts.

P.A.C.E. Open House Sept 12th
The Parents for Academic Challenge and Enrichment (P.A.C.E.) are pleased to announce the 2011 Open House scheduled for Monday, September 12th, 6:30pm at the Shepard Center. The topic of this year’s Open House is ‘Preparing for a good school year’. As parents of gifted children our goal is to provide each of you with information, opportunities to discuss the challenges and joy of raising our children. We are fortunate that Columbus City Schools offers a gifted program. In partnership with the district’s gifted and talented department, we will provide you with resources to support and develop our gifted children. Steering to plan 2011-2012 – Tuesday July 19
Greetings from your new (and old) officers!
We are going to have a Steering Committee meeting to plan for the coming school year. The Steering Committee is a group of P.A.C.E. people including officers and others who get together to do the thinking, dreaming, planning, and working necessary to make all the good things happen at our regular meetings and events. Steering also will discuss directions for advocacy, and other very important things. One does not need to be an officer to “Steer.”
If you are interested in helping out by participating in the Steering Committee, please contact Pres. Scott or V.P. Deb., so we can make sure you have directions and any advance materials. Please contact us also if you have any questions.
Steering will meet Tuesday July 19th, from 6:30 p.m. to ??. We will be meeting in the conference room at the Karl Road Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
