Administered by Parents for Academic Challenge and Enrichment. It is critical to have the best, most effective programs and services for our gifted and talented children. We want your feedback regarding the activities and programs your gifted student is receiving in the Columbus City Schools.
A link to the electronic Questionnaire is below. Submissions will be analyzed, compiled and reported by P.A.C.E. and presented to the Columbus City Schools.
All parents of Columbus City School students are welcome to participate. However, our target audience are parents of those students that have been identified as gifted and talented by the Columbus City Schools. Your feedback is very important and will be utilized during discussions with the Columbus City Schools Leadershipand their Gifted and Talented staff.

February 2011 P.A.C.E. Meeting
Monday February 14, 2011 – 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Credit Flexibility
If your student is in High School or Middle School (or ever will be), you will be interested in joining our discussion about credit flexibility. Credit Flex is an innovative new program that enables students to earn units of high school credit based on a demonstration of subject area competency, instead of or in combination with completing hours of classroom instruction.
Our discussion will be led by some P.A.C.E. parents who have had experience negotiating the rather new process for credit flexibility, with input from educators in attendance.
(directions and maps)
N.B. If you are another parent who has experiences with credit flex, we would love to hear a bit about your experiences with this very flexible, customizable program. Please contact Scott webmaster@ColumbusPACE.org if you’d like to R.S.V.P. before our meeting. Thanks!

Having a gifted and talented child is rewarding, exciting and joyful. Raising a gifted child is not always easy, it can actually be frustrating, tiresome, and overwhelming. Do you believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn everyday? Do you have a child that you need help understanding, living with, and sticking up for? Columbus PACE is a group of volunteer parents of identified Gifted and Talented children. We work closely with the Columbus City School District’s Exceptional Student Staff during the school year. We meet monthly and learn from one another.
Did you know that there are over 11,000 identified gifted and talented students in our district? While our families come from all areas of the city, from different backgrounds, different cultures, different experiences, we are all just like you. Our group is here for us as a relevant resource for every family in the district, including yours.
You are invited to PACE’s Open House:

General Meeting and Open Discussion
Ending Strong and Looking Ahead
Please join us as we have our final regular membership meeting of the 2009-2010 school year. We will be open to discuss a variety of topics as we seek to wrap up the current school year and look ahead to 2010-2011. We need your input to help the P.A.C.E. Steering Committee prepare for an exciting 2010-2011. We will also take care of P.A.C.E. business such as electing officers for next year.
One topic of interest we hope to address:
Are you in one of those families who just received your first notice of gifted identification for your child? Or have you been around for a while and have other questions – or helpful advice for the “newbies?” Either way, there is an important place for you at P.A.C.E.
