PACE Minutes - Meeting - September 10, 2007

•  Meeting began at 7:08 p.m.
•  President Kathy Jackson Welcomed Attendees
  •  Shared that PACE is an OAGC affiliate;
  •  We can celebrate the good things happening in CPS;
  •  Superintendent Gene Harris formed a Task Force to address CPS issues;
  •  Parent Day event on Oct. 7th (see flyer);
  •  Introduced 2007/08 PACE Officers;
  •  Announced PACE co-sponsoring a Candidate's Night Event - October 18th  at Broad Street Presbyterian Church (see flyer); focus on Board of Education Candidates;
  •  $5 for PACE membership;
  •  November Meeting - focus on Middle/High Schools;
  •  December - Dr. Gene Harris;
  •  January - No Meeting;
  •  February - TBA;
  •  March 3 -Opportunity Fair;
  •  April - Assessment/Testing.

•  Francie Nolan - Introduced Gifted/Talented Staff; thanked PACE for working with parents; encouraged parents to attend Candidate's Night.
•  Group discussion by grade level followed; met in small groups from 7:30 - 8:15.
•  Kathy - child care at future meetings will be available, upon request.
•  Meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
